Remembering the 146 workers of the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire
This week Local 1010 joined New York City Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO and the NYC labor community to honor the 146 workers — mostly young, immigrant women — who lost their lives in the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire in 1911, one of the deadliest workplace tragedies in U.S. history. This moment sparked a movement for stronger worker protections and dignified labor practices.
Over 100 years later, we remain committed to fighting for a safer future for all workers. #UnionStrong #1u #Solidarity
