Laborers Local 1010 attends Preliminary Parks Budget Hearing

This week Laborers Local 1010 joined New Yorkers for Parks, the #PlayFair Coalition and community advocates at the Preliminary Parks Budget Hearing to demand full restoration of NYC Parks in the FY26 Budget.

Local 1010 is calling on the City Council and the Parks Department to ensure public funds are awarded to ethical contractors, MWBEs, and responsible businesses that prioritize worker safety and quality construction. Greater transparency, oversight and accountability will go a long way in achieving resilient parks for New Yorkers and better conditions for workers on Parks projects.

Unionized laborers, if awarded the opportunity to work on these capital projects, will bring years of skills training to the job, helping to complete them on budget and in a timely manner.
