NICE: New Immigrant Community Empowerment Participates OSHA class

Last week Local 1010 visited members of NICE: New Immigrant Community Empowerment who were participating in an OSHA class and spoke to them about who LIUNA is and who Laborers’ Local 1010 members are and the type of work they perform as well as our signatory contractors. We answered questions about how workers can join the union and how to organize their own jobsites. Many of the participants were new immigrants and we reminded them that the union works to raise wages for all workers and advocates that all construction workers work on safe jobsites throughout NYC.
